Notes:
Logo was developed drawing inspiration from the Dutch flag and coat of arms and appropriating it in a context familiar to Americans in relation to cafés and bars and including very contemporary visual styling. This approach to the logo development mirrored the intent of the restaurant itself- bringing the tradition of European grand cafés to a contemporary American market and hoping to draw customers from all classes and ages to the same place to mingle. Logo is used for a variety of merchandise from coffee mugs to clothing.

Group of Logos for Urban Playground's Annual Street Festival Event. The Logos are interchangeable and are intended to tie in with other street signs that contain event information. The organization and it's festival promotes soccer, biking, and running.

Redlight Bar

Poster for 'Reggae Tuesdays.'
Notes:
Redlight Bar is an homage to the red light districts throughout Europe. The bar's interior is, well... red. I set out to take a less literal visual homage to reggae and the avoid the cliché visuals associated with the genre, yet leave no ambiguity as to what the event is about and stay consistent with the bar's aesthetic.

Balzac is a contemporary lounge with a very warm and rustic feel. While approaching designs for this client, my aim was to convey the feeling of worn to the point of extreme comfort- like a favorite pair of jeans- while also showing an awareness of contemporary trends, a reflection of their interior space and extensive drink menu.

The client specializes in taking worn and architecturally interesting spaces and reinventing them into hip restaurants / bars. For this project I aimed to capture this aspect that tied together the different entities that would use the card.
